On July 13, 1954, baseball's greatest stars assembled at Cleveland Municipal Stadium for the 21st Major League Baseball All-Star Game. A crowd of 69,751 watched the American League, managed by Casey Stengel, defeat Walter Alston's National League club 11–9 after an eighth-inning rally.
